Sending out Love and Hope...

I want to send a small love note to all of the families that remember tragedy on this day.

A love note for those who remember today with gratitude.

And a love note for our heroes who risked their lives and lived to tell about it.

Your stories have brought me hope, courage, sadness, faith, amazement, and appreciation.  Thank you for sharing.

Today, many people-near and far-prayed for you, honored you, and remembered with you.

Expressing my thoughts with hopes that you will see and hear my small voice, one of a multitude.

We remember 9/11

Night Care...

I am curious...

I have always thought that there had to be parents that worked at night.  And I wondered what they did for childcare during those hours???

I would like to know what they do when there is not a partner or family available.

Just wondering do you know anyone who would benefit from night care for their child(ren)?

Please comment.  Thanks

New Carpet!

I will take this opportunity to be thankful.  I never knew how much work went into installing carpet.  This has been a lesson for me.

This has been a Saffa project.  It had been a process of removing the old carpet, scraping the old glue(?), sweeping, removing the wall liners-the long strips of stuff on the base of the walls, choosing and acquiring the new carpet, measuring and cutting, spreading adhesive, and laying the carpet...(I probably forgot to mention something)  And yet more before this is complete!

My hat goes off to all the unsung carpet laying people...Thank you for making our homes and such more comfy!

Here are some pictures.  The style/color is called Buckwheat.  It has a nice earth tone to it and it will go lovely with the wall colors.

Thank You Saffa!

Certified!!!!

Well, this morning our certifier from the state came to look over our home.  Lots of measuring, questions, writing things down, etc...

The final word is that we are now a certified family home.  We have 2 more inspections that are follow up for when the children are around!

I literally fell on the floor and screamed for joy after politely saying goodbye to the certifier.

This is a day of Gratitude and Grace!  We can now officially say we are a certified family home.

Today, our first student and family came as scheduled on our First day being Certified.....
And another dear family came to visit as well!  What a pleasant surprise.

Both children and parents, seemed to enjoy the simple meal that was prepared even asking for more.
I felt warm and happy inside.

What a positive day!

Progress Pictures

Things are truly moving along.  We received our initial health and sanitation inspection today.  Hooray, we are good until October!!!!  She will come back some time before then to see that things are in place while the children are there.

One more inspection on Monday....Then, if we pass, we are certified!

This has been a beautiful process, and in the midst of all of this, we have been giving tours, and signing up families for spaces.

We have 2 wonderfully loving teachers.  A great team!  Please continue to check the website for added information.

Here are some pictures of the progress.

Best wishes...

Yard beginning to look amazing!!!

Alot has been done in a short amount of time...

Our "best builder" has been making art out of wood.  We now have a lovely front gate; a back fence; a back gate, an emergency exit in the basement, and the yard has been cleared alot.  Unfortunately, we will be saying goodbye to the blackberries.  But maybe they will come back next year!

I will be posting pics on the website tomorrow!!  Can't wait til you see how things are coming along.
